The Most Frustrating Music Video, Ever.
The Wannadies - Hit (1997)
Plopbox is an online oldschool music jukebox. Cute little player that reminds me of fullscreen modes in good old DOS MOD players, too bad it breaks when you switch tabs (in Safari at least).
I have quite a decent bathroom collection of computer games and programming magazines (from 1986 to 2000) and that's an endless source of bogus predictions and phoney reviews.
We'll start with a quote coming straight from the dot-com era:
(...) studies have shown that, in Europe, by 2004, 200 millions mobile devices will be WAP enabled and 60% of all internet connections will be initiated with mobiles.
- Sophie Bocquillon (september 2000, in Programmez, p. 44) *
* I highly suspect the article featuring this quote to be an infomercial, although it was not advised as is and it seamlessly blend into the other very poor content of the magazine.
A trippy selection of dystopian anthems from the golden 90ies for all my fellow cyberpunk nightbirds...
I've spent the last few evenings watching old-school North-American professional wrestling. Do you also remember glorious moves such as the the piledriver, the sleeper or a close line with the top rope? What a guilty pleasure to watch Mean Gene's interviews, managers doing all kind of cheap shots outside the ring and listen The Body's attempts to justify obvious cheating acts!
But what happened to them since 1987? A quick look around the Wikipedia revealed a terrible truth: a lot of them are simply not anymore. The death toll among professional wrestlers is simply scary:
And I probably missed some... I ain't the only one to be alarmed by such a high death rate... Hell, I can't believe even Miss Elizabeth committed suicide!
If you're somewhat into old-school hip-hop and electrofunk, check out all these rare mixes, remixes, bootlegs and pirate radio hometapings from the middle golden 80ies. For any heavy synthetic snare drum hits fan like me, this collection is pure pr0n!
